In this video Nathan will be taking us through how to properly rig an oar raft for anything that might come your way on the river. From single day trips to multi day trips, this video will lay the foundation of concepts for how to rig an oar raft. Specifically, we will be focusing on:

  • Proper frame alignment

  • Preventing tube roll

  • Balancing the load in the raft

  • Gear box cradles

  • Setting up straps for easy adjustment

There are a ton of systems that specifically address individual concerns for rowing, but this lesson will give you a strong foundation to work through any system. The skills we discuss in this lesson can be built upon to help you efficiently rig full multi-day rowing setups, which we will cover in an advanced rigging lesson.

  • An oar frame

  • More straps than you can count

  • A cooler or seat system
