One Minute, One Hundred Words - From Fear to Confidence

One Minute, One Hundred Words - From Fear to Confidence

The Journey from Fear to Confidence

Setting out on a quest means you have to think about big picture things; the dangers, possible problems, and solutions. It can be overwhelming. My transition to be more confident came from micro-successes. The little stair steps; a few miles here, a few there, starting with a small rapid, and moving up to bigger. Sometimes I rely on family or a team to not only share the experience but to tell stories, jokes, and ease away the scary feelings. It comes down to brain training. I try to feed my brain positivity. I try to build on simple positive experiences.

After being the youngest woman to raft 556 miles of America's last wild river, Vay O'Brien tackles tough questions on the young woman experience, resilience, building confidence, controlling fear, and finding your flow. Vay O'Brien shares her story in a five-part series: ONE Quest ONE Girl: Told in one picture, one video, and one hundred words.

If you missed out on part 2 of Vay’s story please check it out here.
