The Gear Shed - 5.10 River Tennie Gear Review

The Gear Shed - 5.10 River Tennie Gear Review

One of the Best River Shoes They Stopped Making

In this episode of the Gear Shed, I picked up a pair of 5.10 River Tennies. I put this shoe to the test during a cold November day on the North Fork of the American. The slick rocks and cold water were a pretty good challenge to see how this shoe performs. Ultimately, I really don't have any negative feed back to speak of. Two things I didn't mention in the video however were the fact that the soles are so sticky that it can be hard to get dirt and mud off of them. The second point is that they do not dry very quickly. If you really open the shoe up it will dry more quickly, but I ended up sticking a cardboard toilet paper roll (without toilet paper attached...naturally) into the shoe and that helped to absorb some moisture and improve airflow. This was in colder wet fall conditions and I imagine during the hot summer months this would be less of an issue.
