The Elusive Arizona Gem
As I sit on my computer in some Starbucks in California, dreaming of whitewater, the screen shows me the future. A prophesy of the possible journey yet to come. I'm looking up the river flow projections for the Salt River, one often talked about, but rarely run multiday raft trip in Arizona. For the past few years the Salt has had little luck holding and having enough water to whitewater raft. But this year, the projections were holding strong. So we dropped everything, hopped in our car, drove 16 hours to paddle my sixth new river of the year and had ourselves a great time.
