Expedition: Alps 2019

We had such an outstanding trip to France this year for Expedition Alps. Team Paddler Trevor Croft had 1 week to make it happen and he pulled off 6 days of back to back boating out there. Video Series From The 2019 Expedition

It was the last day in the Alps for this year's adventure. Ex du Bas was amazing and a huge thanks to all of our friends in France, especially Mat and Roxane at Crazy Water Rafting. Thank you all for making this trip so special and super fun.

Day 6 and our random invite from Kadux turned into a pleasant surprise seeing Mich from Oie Oie Oie Rafting who helped us get on the Guil last year. Trevor hopped in the boat with Mich to enjoy the best of the Gyronde. This fantastic class III-IV river originates from glacial melt high in the French Alps.

Day 5 and Trevor hopped on the road to meet up with our friend Lea on the Guil River. The water was low on the Guil, but it still made for a super fun day. Sometimes dropping the pressure in the boat can make an otherwise sticky day turn into a fun trampoline ride.

Just another super fun day on the Ubaye playing in Duckies and running Ex du Bas as well as a little carnage in there. Sometimes you ace the rapid and sometimes it gets exciting. Definitely not a place to be out of your boat, but if you are it's a good idea to pick your swim before you go.

We got out for some more Ubaye River excitement on the second river day of the trip. With the low water it was making the features a bit more technical and stacked up some exciting carnage out on the water.

Getting out to the French Alps from the US can be a bit of a journey in itself. Not only do you lose a day heading over, but if you decide to go by train from Paris there are a couple obstacles.
