Queenstown Rafting

Queenstown Rafting

Check in is at our Queenstown Rafting shop on 35 Shotover Street and out to Cavell's Rafting Base.  At Cavell's Rafting Base rafters are met and have a brief rundown of the clothing they are about to get dressed in.  They then begin with an unforgettable coach trip into Skippers Canyon, famous for the exciting cliff edges and gold mining history.  Meet your river guide before beginning your whitewater rafting journey through the spectacular canyon.  Rafting from Depp Creek over peaceful waters at first, you’ll head toward the exhilarating rapids of the lower canyon.  The adrenaline pumps as you paddle Aftershock, Squeeze, Toilet, Oh sh*t, Pinball and Jaws to name a few.  Raft through the 170m Oxenbridge Tunnel before shooting Cascade Rapid to complete your adventure.  Before returning to Queenstown, enjoy a sauna and hot shower at Cavell's Rafting Base.

We have a high level of very experienced guides here at Queenstown Rafting that have been rafting/kayaking for 20 + years.  We also have an extensive training program for new guides, where many of our senior guides are assessors for NZ grade 4-5 rafting guide award.  On average our raft guides have around 6-7 years’ experience.

On our 3 day Landsborough Wilderness Experience trip we spoil our customers with amazing gourmet meals.  Cheese platters, venison and prawn spring rolls, full English hot breakfasts, fresh bread and freshly cut salads, pancakes with whipped cream, roast potatoes, fire grilled NZ Lamb, chocolate cake, fresh fruit salads plus lots of beer and NZ wine.
