Who is Annalee Decker?

Annalee Decker is a documentary photographer / filmmaker and journalist currently based in Wilmington, NC. Annalee is also a whitewater raft guide in WV on the New River Gorge and Gauley River. She works closely with organizations like the International Rafting Federation and Rafting Magazine to discuss topics and share media surrounding the whitewater world. Additionally, Annalee is a Sotar Whitewater Manufacturing sponsored athlete.

Annalee is a current honors student attending the University of North Carolina - Wilmington where she is majoring in Film Studies, concentrating in Documentary Production, with a double minor in Business and Journalism. Following her graduation in Spring of 2022, she plans to continue her works in adventure sports through multiple avenues. She hopes her work helps to advocate an environment of accessibility to communities that otherwise appear outlandish.

Projects

Recently added as a regular contributor, Annalee works closely with the International Rafting Federation (IRF) primarily through her photography and journalistic works. Annalee is commonly found on the riverbank capturing photos and thinking up stories through this partnership. (So if you ever see a "Don't Panic" sticker on the side of the river, smile. You're probably having your picture taken.)

Annalee also creates documentaries exploring whitewater regions she frequents. She is currently in production of a short film discussing the current and future boating industry in West Virginia. This adventure film, working title "Defenders," is slated for completion in the Spring of 2022.
